My brother had a football scholarship to the University of Iowa. Every home game my parents would drive from the Chicago suburbs to watch him play.
When I was in graduate school at UW-Madison, I had my work in an exhibit in Cedarburg for a month. I was thrilled.
When I told my parents, they were happy for me. At that time they had two houses and traveled from the Chicago area to Door County two times a week. They went right by Cedarburg.
When they hadn’t stopped to see my show, I had to beg them to get them to do it. They finally did.
